Project Application
Worldwide, bears are threatened with extinction. Their natural habitat is disappearing and being fragmented. Bears are also mistreated, killed for money and used for entertainment. Alertis, fund for bear and nature conservation is dedicated to the protection of all 8 bear species and other animal species living in the same habitat as bears. Therefore, Alertis has devoted part of her budget to support projects on conservation issues, scientific research, education and welfare issues related to bears.
The maximum amount of funding is 7.500 euro per project, per year, only in exceptional cases Alertis can award larger sums. Funding can only be awarded to a legal body. Regular reports on project progress and a financial account are part of the grant agreement.
To apply for funding from Alertis:
- First submit a so-called short proposal.
- Within four weeks a project committee from Alertis decides if the applicant is invited to write a full proposal.
- The full project proposal will then be evaluated by the project committee and if deemed necessary outside referees are also asked to evaluate the project.
- Within eight weeks a decision is taken whether the proposal is awarded.
Time Schedule
First round:
Submission of short proposals before March 1st
Decision on invitation to write full proposal before April 1st
Submission of full proposals before May 1st
Decision on awarding the proposal before July1st
Second round:
Submission of short proposals before September 1st
Decision on invitation to write full proposal before October 1st
Submission of full proposals before November 1st
Decision on awarding the proposal before January 1st
If a project has been awarded, funds will only be guaranteed for 1 year. For continuation the evaluation and continuation form should be filled in and send to Alertis.
