Nature Conservation

Many bear species in the wild are being treatened by decreasing and fragmenting habitat. Furthermore, illegal hunting and conflicts with people are often the cause of many problems. Alertis initiates and supports several projects concerning the conservation of the bear and his habitat.

Welfare

Many bears are still being used for human entertainment like dancing in a circus or captively held in very small cages. Alertis initiates and supports projects to increase the welfare of captive bears. Furthermore, Alertis consults and financially supports foreign organisations to develop bear rehabilitation or rescue centres for traumatised bears.

Education and Awareness

Transfer of knowledge on bears is also a main goal and tool for Alertis to increase the protection of bears. Alertis uses its knowledge and experience to help governments and organisations tackle to problem of bear abuse and stimulate conservation of wild bears in their country. Furthermore, Alertis spends a lot of time on awareness and education projects on a national and international scale.
